Vang Vieng, Laos · Est. 2008
Keeping adventure seekers fed, watered and entertained — one cold pint at a time.
Gary O'Donoghue left Kerry, Ireland with a simple idea: bring the warmth of a proper Irish pub somewhere truly unexpected. He landed in Vang Vieng, and in 2008, Gary's Irish Bar opened its doors.
Fifteen-plus years on, the place has become a landmark. Part of that is the draught Guinness — kegs flown directly from Dublin. Part of it is the cooking, honest and hearty, the kind that makes you feel at home even when you're a long way from it.
But mostly it's the people. Gary, Katae, and the team have a way of making strangers feel like regulars from the very first round.
"There are no strangers here — only friends you haven't yet met."
A Guinness pulled from Dublin kegs. A cold Beer Lao straight off the tap. Or let us mix you something from the cocktail list — classics, twists, a few surprises. Whatever you're after, we'll make it right.
Guinness kegs shipped direct from Dublin. Beer Lao on tap. Cold, fresh, poured with care.
Kronenbourg 1664, Hoegaarden, Corona, Beer Lao Gold, White, IPA & Dark. Somersby ciders.
Espresso Martini, Long Island, Pina Colada, Whiskey Sour, Tequila Sunrise — and plenty more.
Buy two cocktails, get the third one on us. Every night, no exceptions.
Homemade and honest. Everything comes with chips — because it should.
